Research Paper Guidelines
Mack C. Shelley, Associate Editor for Research Papers

The Journal of Information Technology and Politics (JITP) publishes individually- and jointly-submitted research papers of exceptional quality from any disciplinary background focused on topics related to the interface between information technology (IT) and politics. The Journal addresses a wide range of IT issues at all levels of government and civil society and welcomes a comparative approach. It invites national and international contributors to submit manuscripts of approximately 20-40 double-spaced pages.

Research papers are theory-driven manuscripts, focusing on an important intersection of politics and IT and reporting substantial findings of interest to a broad community of researchers, practitioners, and students. We seek in particular manuscripts that provide cutting-edge theories, methods, and findings for the study of IT and politics. Manuscripts presenting qualitative or quantitative results must address the possibility of replication in the first footnote. Please carefully review item 8 the “Instructions for Authors” document prior to submitting.

The editors regard submission of a manuscript to JITP as an implied commitment by the contributors not to submit their paper to another publication while it is under consideration by this journal.
